How to Read Abaya Sales Data for Reorders | AL RUQIU

How to Read Abaya Sales Data for Reorders — A useful checklist for private-label abaya production, wholesale buying, and broader Islamic clothing collections.

Read abaya sales data as a decision set

Abaya sales data is useful when it leads to a specific action: reorder, adjust, pause, or discontinue. Total revenue alone cannot explain whether a style succeeded. Start with a consistent period and capture units offered, units sold, opening and closing stock, discounts, returns, net sales, landed cost, contribution, colour, size, channel, and launch date.

Measure sell-through in context

Sell-through is the share of available units sold in a defined period, but the denominator must be clear. A style exposed for one week should not be compared casually with a core abaya sold for a full season. Record stockouts and delayed deliveries because they suppress observed demand. A waitlist, repeated size question, or customer request may reveal unmet demand even when the sales table appears modest.

Break results down by design, colour, and size. If black sells through while a new colour does not, check placement, photography, price, and stock depth before concluding that the colour is unwanted. If one size generates returns or fit questions, compare the measurement chart, finished garment, and customer feedback. Returns should be classified by reason: length, sleeve, opacity, colour expectation, material, damage, or change of mind.

Connect performance to margin

Calculate contribution after manufacturing, labels, packaging, freight, duties where applicable, payment fees, discounts, returns, and selling costs. A high-volume abaya with costly returns may contribute less than a slower occasion style. Keep assumptions visible and update them when a shipment or campaign changes. Do not use a headline retail price as evidence of profitability.

Use a reorder decision tree

Reorder when sell-through is healthy, margin remains acceptable, returns are understood, and the approved garment can be repeated within the required window. Refine when a specific size, length, image, or care question explains lost sales. Pause when demand is uncertain and stock remains. Discontinue when the style repeatedly ties up cash, generates quality complaints, or no longer fits the brand. Write the decision, evidence, quantity, colour, size curve, and review date.

Keep the physical sample and latest production file beside the dashboard. A reorder is not permission to substitute fabric, alter a sleeve, or change embellishment silently. Compare the proposed material and pattern with the approved reference, then record any approved difference.

The point of data is disciplined learning, not false precision. Add a short written explanation to each reorder decision: what changed, what stayed constant, which evidence was strongest, and when the decision will be reviewed. This makes a later size or colour adjustment traceable and stops one unusually busy weekend from dictating the whole collection. AL RUQIU can use your sales, returns, and reorder evidence to discuss a practical next abaya production brief and the quality checks it requires.
