Approval checkpoints document the production scope
The order record can keep the approved sample, measurements, fabric references, artwork, quantity table, labels and packaging notes together. The client and production team can use this shared reference as the order moves through the listed stages.
Design brief and consultation
We begin by documenting the silhouette, intended use, measurements, colours, fabrics, decoration, quantity, labels, packaging and destination. The requested scope is reviewed against the design brief and available production steps, with any required approvals identified before work begins.
Approval checkpoint
Confirm the design brief, measurement sheet, artwork, quantity breakdown and delivery requirements.
Fabric and specification
The selected fabric, shade, weight, trims and construction details are recorded in the working specification. Client-supplied materials or requested fabric options are reviewed against the design and embellishment requirements.
Approval checkpoint
Approve the fabric or swatch, colour reference, size range, trims and care or label information.
Pattern and sample approval
After the design details are agreed, patterns are prepared and, where included in the agreed scope, a pre-production sample may be developed for review. The sample, if made, gives the client and factory a shared reference for fit, placement, construction, finish and measurements before grading or bulk cutting.
Approval checkpoint
Where included in the agreed scope, approve the physical sample and record any revisions before the bulk specification is frozen.
Grading and cutting
After the relevant pattern and specification details are approved, the pattern can be graded for the required size range and fabric can be prepared for cutting. The agreed cutting method is applied to the prepared fabric before panels move forward.
Approval checkpoint
Check graded measurements, marker quantities, fabric shade and cut-panel identification before panels move forward.

Embroidery, beadwork and handwork
Where decoration is included in the agreed scope, panels receive the specified work through the relevant production department. Thread embroidery, beadwork, stone work and handwork are planned around placement, density, colour, comfort and the approved sample or specification. Not every order uses every technique.
Approval checkpoint
Where decoration is included, review a decorated panel or strike-off for placement, colour, attachment, symmetry and underside comfort.

Sewing and garment construction
Cut and decorated panels are assembled according to the approved construction details. Machine selection and the sewing sequence depend on the garment specification and agreed production scope.
Approval checkpoint
Check seam construction, measurements, closures, sleeve and hem details against the approved sample or specification.

Agreed quality-control checks
Quality-control checkpoints can be agreed during production and after construction. Depending on the order, checks may cover measurements, decoration, stitching, loose threads, closures, pressing and overall presentation. Issues identified through the agreed checks can be recorded for correction before packing.
Approval checkpoint
Review the agreed inspection points and reconcile the finished quantity with the order.

Finishing, labels, packing and dispatch
Finishing and packing may include thread cleaning, pressing, agreed labels, packing labels and packaging. Carton and order details can be reconciled before dispatch or export preparation for the confirmed destination.
Approval checkpoint
Approve label and packaging details, carton quantities and dispatch documentation before release.

Abaya manufacturing process FAQ
When does bulk production start?
The start of bulk production is based on review and approval of the design brief, specification, graded measurements and pre-production sample where included in the agreed scope. Any later change should be discussed with the production team because it may affect materials, quantities or timing.
Can AL RUQIU develop a sample from my own design?
Client-supplied designs can be reviewed for pattern, fabric and embellishment requirements. Where included in the agreed scope, a sample may be developed for approval before bulk production, subject to the design's feasibility and agreed materials.
What is the MOQ for an abaya order?
AL RUQIU's wholesale MOQ is 20 pieces per design per color. The final order plan should also include the size breakdown, colour references, decoration, labels and packaging.
Are photographs available for every process stage?
No. The photographs on this page show selected real production-department assets, such as cutting, embroidery, sewing and finishing. They are not a claim that every individual stage or every order is photographed.
